| Snowy Mtn Farm is a unique 25 acre farm located in south Cawston at the lower end of the Similkameen river, in south central British Columbia, Canada. Snowy Mountain Farm has been growing organically since 1984. Our natural environment is semi desert as we are at the northern tip of the great Senora Desert. The valley is only 300 m in elevation making it a very hot spot in the summer. |

Being a desert environment we receive lots of sunshine, which helps us grow sweet fruit. Our soils are rich in glacial deposits. Fruit grown in this area is world renowned for flavor, color and shelf life. Being in a semi desert means we must irrigate. Our farm receives excellent gravity fed irrigation water from Snowy Mtn. In the spring the waters bring rich sediments of top soil from a pristine wilderness.

| The collector and scientist in Walter doesn’t stop with the trees. Every spring the seed catalogues get him going again. Our tomatoes come in every imaginable color, coming from seeds saved all over the world. Varieties like black krim, purple cherakee, to green zebra & tiger toms. We grow tomatoes in yellow, white, pink, golden, striped, poke adots and the swirls of German Johnson. These beauties make the best salsa. |

We primarily sell our produce at the Vancouver Farmers markets. On Saturdays Walter Harvey goes to the East Vancouver Trout Lake Farmers Market.* The starts with cherries in mid-June and follows with apricots, peaches, apples, pears, etc... until the last market at Thanksgiving. On Sundays, he can be found with delicious produce at The Kitsalino Market. Lauren & Sylvia offer fresh produce on Saturdays at The West End Farmers Market. Look for us on Comox street near Nelson Park (1100 Block of Comox). We're just behind St. Paul's Hospital across Thurlow. Our Sunday Market is in Coquitlam in the Dogwood Pavillion Parking lot at 624 Poirier street ( Poirier & Winslow). This Market goes till the end of October.
It has been fun to watch the markets grow. It has been a real pleasure to meet so many wonderful people that care about where there food comes from and how it is grown. You have enriched us with your smiles, your stories. Thank you so much for your support, rain or shine. You people are wonderful!
* Trout Lake Community Centre parking lot on Victoria at 15th Avenue, beside beautiful Trout Lake (Jonn Hendry) Park.
